ABOUT US

LOVEIT! FOOD is all about learning to cook vegetarian food that's delicious, nutritious, inexpensive and easy to make. Your health or budget might be calling for change or you need some fresh ideas in your kitchen - you'll learn to cook a balanced, meat-free diet. You'll also learn to cook for family or friends that have special dietary needs such as wheat/gluten and dairy allergies.

LOVEIT! FOOD started because Christia discovered that there is a growing interest in vegetarian cooking, particularly since the prices of meat and dairy have increased significantly in recent years. Christia regularly shares recipes, vegetarian advice and cooking demonstrations with friends and community groups. She was raised in an environment where healthy food was taught and modeled, and regularly entertains large groups of people for 'next-to-nothing'. She graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of Auckland NZ, and now spends her time parenting her and husband Russell's three little gentlemen:

“I grew up mostly vegetarian in a non-vegetarian extended family, and am well aware of what non-vegetarians like and dislike. I know what it's like to ask for a vegetarian meal and end up with a leafy salad, some boiled pasta and a tiny serving of veges on a plate - and starvation within half an hour of eating! As a student I was a "bad" vegetarian living on pasta and cheese, and had a very low iron count. As a more responsible adult, I have learnt what a nutritionally balanced diet is, and my health has improved significantly!

"My husband and I live a busy life, and we don't have many hours to spend in the kitchen. I believe that vegetarian food shouldn't take any longer to cook than other food, and it should be as easy as throwing a roast in the oven.”
